The Abandonment of Science by the Left, and the Adoption of Progression by the Right

Science has gone from being a very leftist and progressive subject to a weapon for the right.

Science vs Religion has evolved into Rich vs Poor, or more simply, Institution vs Common Man.

I believe this has something to do with how people view science: The rich white man's way of controlling the population.

This confuses me, since, in comparison to other subjects, at least from my observations, science is so incredibly diverse. If you contribute to science, regardless of your background, you will be remembered forever. Stephen Hawking (disabled), Alan Turing (gay), Ada Lovelace (female), Neil deGrasse Tyson (Black)... and those are only off the top of my head.

AI has become right-wing. Robotics have become right-wing. Cars have become right-wing. Planes have become right-wing. Space has become right-wing. Psychiatry has become right-wing. Anything that requires funding or has been utilised by a bad person has become right-wing.

I don't know who I blame more - right-wingers for seizing this opportunity, or leftists so blinded by anger that they make assumptions on entire subjects based on a tiny subset of people. Now where have I heard that before...

We are creating a funnel, making the slope more slippery for nerdy, autistic, isolated, bullied kids, where they only feel safe on the right. We are making kids believe compassion is their enemy. Leftism has become a checklist where if you can't tick every box, you are the Devil incarnate. Rebellion means nothing.

During the pandemic, alternative, punk, and goth aesthetics rose unimaginably in popularity. Those values have become a megaphoned minority, and their views are now the default. Don't want innocent children in Israel to die? You must hate Palestine. You're a Zionist now. Think non-offending pedophiles deserve therapy instead of torture? That doesn't work in the real world. You must be a pedophile too. Believe in education instead of sorting people into boxes? We don't have time for that. If you don't know the name of a Native tribe, 50 people with "leftist" in their bio are going to harass you for a week straight. Surely that won't give that person a bad impression, or a reason to dehumanize Native Americans. Well, he was already a lost cause, wasn't he? If he's willing to do that, he must be beyond saving. A good person wouldn't judge a group of people because of one incident. We'd never apply that logic to the sciences...
