Security Breach Checkpoint
I was gonna call this a half-way point, but according to my PS, I'm at 6AM! Last I checked, I was at 4AM... Anyway! I'm currently at the part where... well, I don't exactly remember. I completed the Weeping Angels part, I finished Fazer Blast, I shattered Chica (but I didn't get to see Bonnie in the back of his Bowling! :( Hopefully that'll come later... but I did look around trying! I even tried to bring Freddy in there muahahehe)
I upgraded Freddy with Chica's voice and stuff... I think maybe I'm exploring Monty's Golf to find out how to decommission him. Anyway, the point is, I'm not finished with the game yet (and, when I do finish, I want to try to get several endings. Isn't there a Princess Quest/Vanessa one? Or is that in Help Wanted?)
So far... I LOVE IT! Obviously, playing it now compared to release is gonna be different, because we all know it was an insectarium... a.k.a. full of bugs. But I really truly love it. The story, the execution, the pacing, the difficulty, the graphics, the spookiness... It somehow feels like a real horror game AND something a young fan could play.
I really love the difficulty. It's not so hard that I quit and never pick it up again (although Moon's section was a bit hard for being so early in the game), but it's not so easy that you breeze through it. It's slow, brutal, and unforgiving, but I think that's the beauty of it. The Weeping Angels section was so scary and confusing but once I figured it out, it was such a fun segment. The sewer part with Shattered Chica was AWESOME too!
I love the story. Every character is represented so well, particularly Roxy and Monty. I love how you can know so much about them just from their voicelines and behaviour.
I also love how they handle Vanessa/Vanny. I know that's something that a lot of Vanny-heads criticize, but personally, I love how much attention she's getting. I understand that they're not showing her struggle so much, but I just... I love her. Maybe that's why I like it, because she's my baby!
I love how you can enter Freddy, but only for a limited time. It's great if you're scared, so you can just hide in him, but you can't do it forever. I use him when I'm entering a new section. In fact, I was in him the first time I used the elevator, and the Map Bot jumpscared me out of him!
I don't like the navigation. The map isn't that helpful, and I wish they marked objectives. HOWEVER, you wouldn't find the collectibles and secret rooms if that was the case. I just wish it was at least labelled a bit.
I also would like to have some way of knowing where the cameras are pointing when you're hiding. It's hard to know which bin I'm in from the cameras, but that's also half the fun. I pop up, not knowing if I'm about to get immediately caught by a Bot, and it's really fun to look around from inside the bin and try and match your surroundings to those on the camera, or waiting for the Security Bot to go by and then quickly checking the cameras to see which one just circled past a bin.
The only other qualm I have is that I don't know how to use Chica's beak. It said square button, but that's the button to exit Freddy, and it didn't work while I was outside of him either. I'm going to look it up right now.
Oh, also, I wish when you completed the Fazer Blast section and got the Blaster, it popped up with one of those instruction screens telling you that you can shoot the animatronics. I didn't know that until I was watching a tutorial for a later section. Maybe I'm just dumb though. But it could've even said something cryptic, like "you got the Fazer Blaster! Shoot bots to keep them at bay" or something, IDK.
I was also expecting Chica to leave after I shattered her, but that's not a complaint, just a note.
Okay, Reddit says to use Chica's voice box (not beak, whoops) is R2 on PS5, which is weird 'cause it said square. But whatevs! Also, what's the point of using it in Freddy? But maybe it works from outside him too.
Anywho, I might make another post when I make more progress! See ya!
